The new Charter of Aged Care Rights takes effect from 1 July 2019. All people receiving Australian Government funded residential care, home care or other aged care services in the community have the same legal rights as all Australians.

When you start receiving aged care, you retain the same rights as everyone else in the community.

This video explains the rights and responsibilities of those receiving aged care, as well as what you can expect under the new Charter.
