Funding and payments

The CHSP can assist with entry-level support services help you to live independently and safely at home.

CHSP works with you to maintain your independence rather than doing things for you.

How much does it cost?

If you are eligible, you’re expected to pay a small co-contribution to the cost of your care. For basic services like cleaning the co-contribution is only a few dollars per hour.

How long will it take to get some help at home?

First you will need to be assessed. After that it will depend on the availability of services in your area. Check if you meet the requirements for an assessment or if you are ready, apply for an assessment now.

If your needs are more complex, a Home Care Package could be better suited to you.

HCP are designed to assist if you have more complex care needs that go beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Programme can provide.

With Wesley Mission Queensland as your HCP provider you can expect:

  • A dedicated care leader who will coordinate all your care needs
  • An individual care plan tailored to your needs
  • Regular review of your plan to ensure it continues to meet your needs
  • Support and guidance to make the most of your Home Care Package funding

There are four levels of Home Care Packages, designed to support people with different care needs:

  • Home care level 1 – to support people with basic care needs
  • Home care level 2 – to support people with low level care needs
  • Home care level 3 – to support people with intermediate care needs
  • Home care level 4 – to support people with high care needs
