Drop in support Brisbane

If you need immediate support, our drop in services across Brisbane can support you by providing access to much-needed supplies, including food and medical script subsidies. Restrictions to food parcels may apply and are dependent on availability. 

No appointment is necessary, however to be eligible for the service you must provide proof of low income (health care card or pension card; or a bank statement or payslip; or a refugee card or other proof of low income) and proof of identity, such as a photo ID or two forms of non-photo ID.

Brisbane Relief Centre

The Brisbane Relief Hub can support you if you are in financial stress, lacking basic necessities, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Balmoral Uniting Community Centre

The Balmoral Uniting Community Centre (BUCC) is a bustling hub of activity, a place to meet people, build connections and feel a part of something.

Community Meal in Brisbane

Community meals are supplied in Brisbane

Community Meal is a free lunch and dinner service offered in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley for people doing it tough.

Since 2005, Community Meal has been serving people facing times of hardship. 

The Community Meal service provides four key programs:

  • Sunday lunch: two-course lunch from 1pm - 1:45pm (currently in a takeaway format)
  • Monday evening: two-course dinner from 6:30pm - 7:15pm (currently in a takeaway format)
  • Wednesday evening: three-course dinner from 6:30pm - 7:30pm (currently in a dine-in or takeaway format)
  • Most of the main public holidays: two-course lunch from 1pm - 1:45pm (currently in a takeaway format).

Community Meal also offers on Wednesday night a medical clinic with Sunny Street each week and technology support through 4Voices. In addition, WMQ runs a biannual flu vax clinic and from 6 April 2022, a COVID vaccination clinic every Wednesday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

To put together the weekly meal, food is supplied by OzHarvest and Foodbank and is supplemented by resources from Wesley Mission Queensland.

Emergency Relief also provides a free BBQ burger every Tuesday from 10:15am - 11:15am.

Housing and homelessness services

If you or your family is at-risk of homelessness, we can support you to find a place to live and help you to maintain rental agreements and tenancy.

All programs are focused on helping clients move to sustainable and long-term independent living.

Services available in Brisbane, Logan, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and surrounds.
