Suicide prevention initiatives

Wesley Mission Queensland provides evidence-based suicide prevention initiatives to help reduce the risk of suicide, by working with, and empowering, individuals as well as the local communities in which they live.

These initiatives include:

Suicide prevention training and consultation

  • Wesley LifeForce suicide prevention training (half and full day versions)
  • LivingWorks SafeTALK suicide prevention training
  • Screening Tool for Assessing Risk of Suicide (STARS) training – an Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) training package that is supported by Wesley Mission Queensland

Consultancy is available to develop suicide prevention initiatives, develop policies and procedures to reflect the latest research in suicide prevention, debrief on critical incidents, and other specialist support as required.
