Expanded Horizons

Expanded Horizons provides a group based program for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual or other diverse identities (LGBTIQAP+) young people (or youth questioning sexuality or gender identity).

The program offers QSPACE for young people (12-17 years) and QPLUS for youth (18-25 years). Both programs offer resources, guest speakers, peer support and information to build a positive sense of identity and connection with peers.  Expanded Horizons supports young people to access information regarding:

  • Topics of interest
  • Mental health, including linking up with hospital and health services in Queensland 
  • Sexual health
  • Support networks

Expanded Horizons received the inaugural LGBTI QLD Mental Health Week achievement award in 2018 and is made possible by funding from Gold Coast Primary Health Network. 

Eligibility: People aged 12 to 25 living in the Gold Coast region.

Where is Expanded Horizons offered? 

The program is offered at YHES House on the Gold Coast.
