*My Aged Care is the Australian Government’s system for accessing government-funded aged care services.
Assessments take place at your home or in hospital if needed, to discuss your care needs and goals. Once complete, you’ll be informed of the funding you are eligible for, such as CHSP and Support at Home. After receiving the government letter with details for your approved services and funding level, contact your chosen provider.

Once approved for home care subsidy, you can nominate the provider you’d like to deliver your services. That’s where our team steps in! We’ll review your funding, help you understand any costs, and work with you to create a portfolio of services and schedule tailored to your individual needs.
- For Support at Home funding, we work with you to create a Care Plan based on your approved service list and budget, with a schedule tailored to your individual needs. Once you approve your plan, services can begin and a care partner will stay in regular contact.
- For other fundings, we help you choose the services that best suit your needs.
Services can begin! Our team stays in touch along the way. Support at Home clients are assigned a Care Partner, who will stay in regular contact to ensure your supports meet your needs and update your plan as circumstances change.
If you need services urgently, at WMQ you can pay privately for care services while you wait for your funding.

FAQs
Our care expert answers some of the most commonly asked questions about home care.
Home care provides support for older Australians to live safely and comfortably in their own home. It can include help with everyday tasks like cleaning, meal preparation, personal care, transport, and health support such as nursing or allied health services. Home care is personalised to your needs, helping you stay independent and connected to your community. You can pay privately or receive government-subsidised support via various funding options, such as Support at Home.
You can view our full list of services here to better understand how we can support you.
The cost of home care services depends on your personal circumstances, including your income and assets. The Australian Government assesses these factors to determine your contribution towards the services you receive.
Under the Support at Home program, the government will fully subsidise clinical care costs, such as nursing and allied health services. However, you may be required to contribute to the cost of independence and everyday living supports, depending on your assessed financial situation.
To get an estimate of your potential costs, including mandatory contributions and service costs, you can use our Support at Home Fee Estimator. This tool considers your income, assets, and household details to provide an estimate. It also shows a list of our services with costs.
Alternatively, if you have been approved for a package, you can get in contact with our team to discuss costs and understand your out-of-pocket expenses.
The Support at Home program aims to reduce long wait times for home care services, which currently range from one month to over a year (as per 29 October 2025). By 2027, the program seeks to cut average waits to three months, depending on additional funding and full implementation.
While the program offers long-term improvements, immediate impacts could be limited due to the ongoing rollout. Older Australians awaiting services should stay updated through My Aged Care and their service providers.
Your safety is important to us, and we want you to feel completely comfortable with the care workers who come into your home. We are committed to providing high quality home care that meets our values of respect, empowerment and integrity.
All staff go through full screening, including criminal history checks and worker screening clearances. This helps us make sure whoever comes to your home is safe and trustworthy.
We also value your feedback. We use things like satisfaction surveys to source your feedback — and we are always looking for ways to improve.
How we'll work with you
Our care is centred around choice and independence, putting your needs first. You can choose how often each service is delivered, so your care fits your routine and lifestyle. Our care coordinators stay in touch to adjust your plan as your circumstances or health change.

Lei and Keith's story
“Every driver we’ve had has been amazing. They've all been such nice caring, kind people and easy to talk to.”

Keith and Lei show how much even simple home care services can truly change a senior's daily life. After facing health challenges and surgeries, the couple found support with domestic tasks, and transport to appointments or meet up with friends, helping them stay connected and independent.
John's story
“I lost my wife, then after the heart surgery, I suffered an emotional upheaval. WMQ put me back on track.”
Image: John with one of his regular carers
After losing his wife of 54 years, then facing open heart surgery during the height of COVID, John endured months of chest pain and a difficult mental health battle. When he talks about his carers, the affection in his voice is unmistakable.
Aubrey's story
“The smile on his face was so big! Aubrey still talks about that day and is planning to go again soon.”
Image: Aubrey, long-time client
Aubrey’s care leader and his support worker encouraged him to get out of the house, as he hadn’t ventured out for some time. The avid fisherman lit up while buying big sand crabs and reminisced about his fishing days as if they were yesterday.
