Rosemary’s Armchair Mascots
Several years ago, some of Rosemary’s family members were facing battles with cancer.
We looked around our family, that came together every Christmas, and thought that our usual Secret Santa gift giving, could instead be put to more meaningful use.
The amount that each family member would spend on presents, instead was donated to a charity chosen by the family group. The group name came about from a mash up of the letters of the families’ surnames - The Armchair Mascots!
In 2024, the suggestion was put forward that Wesley Mission Queensland would be a worthy recipient of the donations.
“As a family, we have a connection with the Uniting Church and were inspired by the work that the Wesley Mission Queensland has done for so many people across different demographics and different social needs."
Wesley Mission Queensland’s commitment to compassion and unwavering support for Queensland communities inspired us. We feel blessed that we were able to contribute to people doing good for others in our community.
