Hummingbird House is dedicated to caring for Queensland children with a life-limiting condition and their families, prioritising their health, wellbeing, and safety at all times.

Hummingbird House will reopen on Monday 12 January 2026. We are focused on ensuring Hummingbird House reopens safely, sustainably, and with the clinical support required to deliver a high standard of care.

We acknowledge the distress and uncertainty caused by the extended Christmas and New Year closure and are sincerely sorry for the disruption to our families.

Throughout the closure, children and families have been able to access specialist medical care through our partnership with the Queensland Children’s Hospital Paediatric Palliative Care Service, and we thank the Hospital for its ongoing support in ensuring continuity of care.

Hummingbird House remains a core service of Wesley Mission Queensland, and our commitment to providing specialised paediatric palliative care to children and families across Queensland has not changed.
