Tailored approach to care

Our Approach to Care

Care and wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. From the nursing staff to the members of our hospitality team, you'll feel part of a supportive community.

All of Wesley Mission Queensland's aged care communities offer ageing in place, with staff able to provide responsive and flexible care tailored to each resident’s changing needs. This means that we can continue to provide further care for residents in the comfort of familiar surrounds.

Dementia care

Our teams are trained to support people living with dementia, helping to empower them and to improve their quality of life in a safe and supported environment.

We work closely with residents and families to assess and develop a holistic plan to ensure individual needs are supported and to encourage their independence and engagement in meaningful events. We also provide assistance with the tasks of daily living.

Opportunities to interact with animals, children and nature are offered, as well as engagement in a wide range of supported social gatherings and events that promote joy and happiness.

Palliative care

Registered Nurses are trained in advance care planning to help residents and families plan their care requirements as their needs change, including offering a palliative approach to care.

What is advance care planning?

Advance care planning is an important part of the palliative approach to care. This is a process of discussing and documenting the individual’s choices about care if there comes a time in the future when they can no longer make decisions for themselves.

This approach alleviates the stress and anxiety for family and loved ones who otherwise may be asked to make these decisions or may need to make decisions for their loved ones as care needs change.

We deliver high quality support and symptom management as the needs of individuals change which can involve end-of-life care services from various skilled health professional.
