Our services include centre-based day respite and a diverse range of day programs and activities, social groups and social outings for those over the age of 65 and younger people with a disability.

 

Services, features and eligibility

Enjoy all the comforts of home, including quality meals, activities, and visiting health professionals, in a secure and culturally inclusive environment. With flexible booking and a range of funding options available, let us help make your respite experience a memorable one. 

Spend a few hours or a day with us to make new friends and enjoy social and physical activities. We facilitate:

  • Activities tailored to interests (e.g. art, board games, gardening, music, etc.)
  • Social connection by spending time with new and familiar faces
  • Bus trips and social outings

Hyland House Centre-based respite offers a friendly, safe and respectful environment for everyone. Morning tea and lunch is also provided.

We welcome people over the age of 18 years with a range of abilities and can provide a safe and secure environment for those living with a diagnosis of dementia.

Funding and payment options

Funding your respite care can be done via:

  • your Home Care Package (HCP),
  • the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and an appropriate referral,
  • private or NDIS funding,
  • the Queensland Community Support Scheme

Mum has been going to Hyland House for many years, and it is such a blessing for mum and our family. Mum loves interacting with the friendly, kind, funny (and patient!) volunteers and staff. She always comes home with a smile.

1. Free Respite Offer: The Brisbane North Respite offers a one-time free trial of respite at either Hyland House or Arana Hills. 
2. Eligibility: This offer is limited to one free trial session per person.
3. Duration: The free trial offer is valid until December 31st, 2024. Participants must schedule and complete their free session before this date.
4. Access: To access the free respite, participants must register for a session.
5. Cancellation: Participants may cancel their free session at any time by contacting Wesley Mission Queensland Respite team prior to the date of the scheduled trial.
6. Governing Terms: By registering for the free respite session, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.
