Stellar Arts

Volunteer with Stellar Arts

Wesley Mission Queensland's Stellar Arts program is a collection of creative workshops supporting those aged 17 - 64 years of age who are living with a disability. Choose from singing, drumming, visual arts and drama workshops led by qualified artists and musicians in a friendly social environment.

Why attend a creative arts workshop?

Aside from the skills you'll develop in your chosen creative pursuit, there is so much to gain from learning together in a supportive group environment:

  • Meeting new people and make friends
  • Developing your team work skills
  • Improving your concentration, listening skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Enhancing your communication skills
  • Gaining confidence to join more groups and express your creativity in different ways
  • Improving your energy and enhancing your mood.

 What can I learn?

We offer workshops in singing, African drumming, drama and movement, and visual art. Our workshop facilitators are renowned artists and musicians with a wealth of performance and teaching expertise. You will receive technical know-how, in a way that is accessible and appropriate for you and your needs.

How much does it cost?

If you are registered under the NDIS and have creative arts in your plan, your participation can be funded through capacity building supports. Alternatively, if you do not have funding under the NDIS, you can arrange to pay privately.
