Your Stay

outdoor-area1.jpg
We believe in living life as full as possible. Our staff and volunteers are here to help and make the ‘home away from home’ as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Residents have the right to:

  • Health care of the highest quality, maintaining standards of professional excellence
  • Information on the health care service provided including costs associated with it
  • Accessing treatment regardless of age, faith, sexual orientation, ability or ethnicity
  • Courteous, considerate care with respect for the resident’s feelings, personal privacy and dignity, always
  • Request information on investigations to be performed, diagnosis (to the degree known) and nature and risks of any proposed treatment from their health care professional
  • Have information communicated to them in a way they can understand
  • Refuse treatment (to the extent permitted by law)
  • Advise their treating health care professional if they don’t understand any aspect of their care, including their own condition and the purpose of their treatment before agreeing to that treatment.

When staying at Hopewell Hospice, we ask all residents to:

  • Provide as much information as possible on their own health history - present complaints, past illnesses, hospitalisations, medications and other matters
  • Follow the Resident-Focused Care Plans (developed in consultation with the Resident’s family and the Health Practitioner)
  • Be considerate of the rights of the other residents and of our staff and volunteers.

Dining and Lounge area

Here’s where we all come together. Staff, volunteers, residents, friends and families – to sit, to chat, to share laughter and joy. Birthdays, anniversaries or anything that calls for a party are also celebrated at Hopewell. And you’re welcome to join in if you wish.

You’ll find all the necessities for quality time with family and friends visits in our dining area, including freshly baked cake, tea, coffee and biscuits.

Meals

Food brings joy and plays a central role at Hopewell Hospice. Residents are welcome to have meals together in the dining room, or the option is always there to eat in their room. Our staff are always on hand to assist with at mealtimes. At Hopewell, we won’t disturb you if you’re resting and can bring your meal to you once you’re ready. Our meals are freshly prepared daily by our in-house cook who can accommodate most meal requests.

Gardens

Our healing gardens have been landscaped to provide a tranquil environment.  Connect with nature and wander through the winding paths and discover the beauty in our area.
