What you need to know

How do I get started?

Our friendly team is here to support you through the process to get started. Whether you would like to book a tour, have a general question, or need guidance with your application through the My Aged Care website, we can help.

Prior to accessing aged care services with us, you will need to have a free assessment with a member of an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) who will talk to you about your current situation and work out if you are eligible to receive aged care services.

Once you’ve been assessed and have received a letter to say that you are approved as eligible for aged care services, you can apply through:

You can apply to as many homes as you like. When a place becomes available, the aged care home will contact you or your nominated contact person and will send you Residential Aged Care Agreement Form (Sample).

If you would like to find out more, please call us on 1800 448 448 or fill in our online form

What are the fees?

We offer a variety of accommodation options and prices and encourage you and your family to discuss your needs with us. Prices and payment options for each community can be found below.

What are my payment options?
Residents can choose to pay for accommodation by a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAP) or a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) or a combination of both.

What is a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)?

A RAD is lump sum payment that residents can choose to pay for accommodation.  If you choose to pay the full RAD then the entire amount will be refunded to you when you leave our service, provided no other fees have been deducted.

What is a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP)?
A DAP is a periodic payment that is based on a daily rate for accommodation.

What is a combination payment?
A combination payment allows you to pay a percentage of the Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) upfront and an adjusted Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) ongoing.

For example, if you choose a combination payment for a $450,000 room and pay 75% of the RAD ($337,500), your adjusted DAP will be $17.75.

If you choose to make a combination payment you may also request that we deduct the DAP portion from the RAD.  This would reduce the amount of the RAD which would be refunded to you when you leave our service.

What if I have limited assets?
Residents with limited assets may be treated as ‘supported’ by the Department of Social Services which means you will not be required to pay the published Accommodation Payment or it will be a lower amount.

If you are not treated as ‘supported’, but affordability is still a factor, this will not necessarily affect your eligibility for accommodation.

You can also use the My Aged Care website's Residential Care Fee Estimator for further guidance about what you will be asked to pay.
