About Our Partners

We believe in the power of community connections collaborating with partner organisations to ensure Queenslanders in need can access innovative and compassionate support services.

Our community partners include:

Youngcare Foundation

Youngcare

In 2006 Wesley Mission Queensland commenced a partnership with Youngcare Foundation to build age-appropriate housing for young adults living with complex disabilities. This partnership has resulted in supported accommodation communities at Sinnamon Park, Coomera and Wooloowin.

A word from Samantha Kennerley, Chief Executive Officer, Youngcare

‘At Youngcare, we are driven by our mission to develop viable and replicable housing models to help young people avoid admissions to aged care. With successful partnerships with Wesley Mission Queensland at our Brisbane and Gold Coast apartments, we are passionate about providing choice, independence and dignity to young Aussies with high care needs.’

Hummingbird House Foundation

Hummingbird House

Queensland’s only children’s hospice was built as an initiative of Wesley Mission Queensland and Hummingbird House Foundation. Based in Chermside, the home-away-from-home delivers world class paediatric palliative care and respite services for children living with a life limiting illness and their families.

A word from Paul Quilliam, Hummingbird House Co-Founder

‘We began Queensland Kids in 2011 to address a significant gap in Queensland’s paediatric landscape – respite for children with life-limiting conditions. There are more than 3,700 Queensland families who have to travel interstate to access a respite centre for their terminally ill children. Thanks to the partnership with Wesley Mission Queensland we now have a great site and experienced care service providers who will offer world-class care and support to these vulnerable families.’

Mantle Housing

Mantle Housing

Wesley Mission Queensland partnered with Mantle Housing, an advocacy group of concerned parents and carers, to develop Clear Breeze Apartments. Queensland’s only supported accommodation environment for adults living with mental illness  opened in 2015.

A word from Professor Ross Young, Chairman of the Mantle Housing board

‘Mantle Housing and Wesley Mission Queensland are committed to providing well designed homes for people with enduring mental illness. These homes will enable people living in a Clear Breeze apartment to lead fulfilling, independent and effectively supported lives.’
