Access & Individual Support

YHES House is a safe, youth friendly community hub that provides a non-judgemental space where young people are welcomed, listened to, and respected.

Our staff and volunteers are here to help you get your life on track and working towards your goals.

YHES House can help you if you:
  • Are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
  • Are struggling with life and need someone to talk to
  • Are having issues with drugs and alcohol
  • Have questions about sex and sexuality
  • Are pregnant and need support
  • Are having relationship problems
  • Are a young parent looking for social and parenting support
  • Need health advice
  • Need a safe place to stop in, have a shower, do some laundry and use the Internet
  • Need a referral and advocacy 
Drop In

Mondays and Thursdays 9am – 1pm for young people aged 12 - 18 years 

Access to Centrelink

Each Thursday morning from 10am - 1pm young people aged between 14 - 25 years can access Centrelink in a friendly space. 

Access to Health professional

Each Thursday morning from 9:30am – 12pm a specialised drug and alcohol health worker is available to provide individual health education/counselling for young people aged 12 – 25 years. No referral is required and unlimited sessions are available. 

YHES House’s Young Parents Program

The program is for young parents aged 12 - 25 years and includes:

  • Childbirth education and support including:
    • Midwifery care through in-house clinic
    • Diet and nutrition advice
    • Stages of labour information
    • Gold Coast Hospital tours
    • Relaxation and birth classes
    • Education about the emotional and practical needs of babies
    • Information about maternity allowance
    • Breastfeeding education
  • A new parents support group that educates participants about:
    • Newborn care (weighing & growth monitoring)
    • Sleep and settling
    • Introducing solids to baby
    • Contraception
    • Teeth and teething
    • Baby development
    • Family payments
    • Other available support services
How can you access YHES House?

If you're aged between 12 - 25 years you can access YHES House.

Individual support and drop in is available for youth aged 12 - 18 years.

The Young Parent Program; Centrelink & health professional services is available for young people aged up to 25 years of age. 

Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm.
