Counselling and Social Work

Talking through your concerns and individual issues with one of our qualified Social Workers can be the first step in improving your quality of life. This service allows you the freedom to discuss personal issues in a safe and confidential place.

This service may benefit those experiencing:

  • Injury, illness or other significant life events such as loss and adjustment to diagnosis and disability or change in circumstance (e.g. moving to aged care, loss of mobility, assistance with housing)
  • Physical and mental health concerns
  • Psychological aspects of ageing and psychogeriatric issues
  • Substance abuse and addiction 
  • Child and family welfare matters 
  • Assistance with service navigation and facilitated referral or linking to relevant services (e.g. MAC referrals, ACAT referrals, housing referrals and transition of care) 
  • Carer support 
  • Capacity and Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) assistance 
  • Advocacy with individuals, families, community and particularly people experiencing social disadvantage.
Where can you access counselling and social work services?

We can arrange for individual appointments to take place:

  • At a Wesley Mission Queensland location 
  • In a public space
  • Over the telephone
  • Over VOIP (an internet phone call service)
