Wesley Mission Queensland provides a wide variety of programs and services to help you to achieve your NDIS goals.

These include:

 


Allied Health (Therapeutic Supports)

Wesley Mission Queensland has a range of allied health services that can help you to stay fit and healthy.

Using our allied health services you can work towards a number of goals, for example:

  • I want to be fitter and more mobile
  • I want to improve my balance and my walking
  • I want to get on better with my family
  • I want to improve my communication skills and build better relationships

These services can help you with:

  • Occupational Therapy 
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Dietician
  • Speech Pathology

In your NDIS plan, you can access these services under:

  • Therapeutic supports
  • Exercise physiology
  • Support coordination for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) – support coordination 

Supported Accommodation

We believe that everyone should be able to have access to the living environment of their choosing. Our supported accommodation services can support people living with a disability to reach their personal goals in living life as independently as they can.

Example goals:

  • I want to move out of my parent’s home and live as independently as possible
  • I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community

In your NDIS plan, you can access these services under:

  •  Specialist disability accommodation (SDA)
  • Community nursing
  • Daily tasks and shared living (SILS)

Balmoral Uniting Community Centre

Balmoral Uniting Community Centre (BUCC) provides a range of social and support programs for people who wish to stay active and engaged with their community. If you’re looking for ways to socialise with others and take part in fun activities, this community centre and help you to reach your goals.

At BUCC you can:

  • Access transport – bus pickups to and from the centre
  • Take part in centre-based activities and events
  • Take day trips
  • Join in on group holidays

Example goals:

  • I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community
  • I will need some transport support to get out and about

In your NDIS plan, you can access this service under:

  • Group and centre activities
  • Participate community
  • Assist transport

 


Community Assisted Transport

Sometimes a helping hand to get out and about in your community can make all the difference in maintaining your independence and wellbeing. CATS can help you with things like appointments, community engagements, and shopping trips.

Example goals

  • I need some transport help to get out and about, to my job, or my training

  • Assist transport 

 


The ORCA Project

The ORCA Project is a post-school training option for young people aged 18 – 21 with a disability that includes work experience and ultimately employment. It gives participants the opportunity to realise their goals in building their capacity, enhancing their lives and finding meaningful connections in the community.

ORCA can help you:

  • Get ready to work in a group environment
  • Get ready to work as an individual
  • Develop life skills that you can take into the workforce
  • Get ready for work when you leave school

Example goals

  • I want to get work in something I love. I also want to volunteer
  • I want to learn new skills to help me get a job in the future

In your NDIS plan, you can access this service under:

  • Develop life skills
  • Assistance to access and maintain employment
  • School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

 


MailpaQ

MailpaQ provides meaningful employment to people living with a disability while providing business solutions to the wider community through, packaging and warehousing services.

At MailpaQ you can:

  • Develop individual and group skills in social and community participation
  • Find employment in a social enterprise
  • Take part in various fun art activities
  • Work in the MailpaQ ADE
  • Work in the ARTCycle enterprise

Example goals

  • I want to stay in the work I am doing – I love it
  • I want to try some new activities
  • I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community

  • Develop Life Skills
  • Participate Community
  • Specialist Supported Employment
  • Assistance to Access and Maintain Employment
  • School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

 


Creative Arts Program

Creative Arts Program is a music and arts program allowing participants to develop personal skills through singing, movement, drumming, art, and dance classes.

Example goals

  • I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community
  • I want to explore my creative side and learn new things (like singing or photography))
  • I want to be more social and connect with people my age

In your NDIS plan, you can access this service under:

  • Develop Life Skills
  • Participate Community

 


Art from the Margins

Art from the Margins (AFTM) is a visual arts program providing artists with creative support, mentoring and professional development, and the opportunity to exhibit their work to the wider community through workshops and events. AFTM can help you to realise your creative goals to lead a more fulfilling life.

Example goals:

  • I want to explore my creative side and learn new things
  • I want to start a small business in the arts
  • I want to build my confidence by expressing myself through art therapy

In your NDIS plan, you can access Art from the Margins under:

  • Participate Community
  • Assistance to Access and Maintain Employment
  • Develop life skills
  • Group/centre activities

 


Group61

Group61 is a volunteer befriending program for people experiencing mental health concerns. Friends (people with lived experience of mental illness) and volunteers meet regularly and enjoy a variety of activities together, with the aim of reducing social isolation.

Example goals

  • I want to improve my relationships skills I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community

In your NDIS plan, you can access Group61 under:

  • Participate community

 


National Auslan Interpreter Booking and Payment Service (NABS)

NABS provides interpreters for Deaf, Deafblind, and head of hearing people who use sign language and would like an interpreter for private health care appointments. As part of the NDIS, NABS can provide interpreters for health care appointments, as well as other appointments (eg. work, hobbies, financial, etc).

Example goals

  • I want to use an interpreter for my medical appointments
  • I want to use an interpreter to do more things in the community

In your NDIS plan, you can access NABS under:

  • Interpret and translate support coordination (level one)

 


WMQ Accounts and Supports Facilitator

Our accounts and supports facilitator can help NDIS clients process their invoices and payments on their NDIS plan. This service helps you to manage your NDIS funds while taking the stress away, leaving you more time to enjoy your support.

Example goals

  • I want someone to pay the invoices for services I purchase in the NDIS

In your NDIS plan, you can access this service under:

  • Plan management (WMQ Accounts) 

 


Clear Breeze  Apartments

Clear Breeze Apartments provide supported accommodation for adults living with mental health concerns. The apartment building includes 24-hour on-site support that allows residents to feel safe and supported while enjoying an independent living environment.  Clear Breeze Apartments offers long-term accommodation. Contact us about vacancies.

  • I want to move out of my parent’s home and live as independently as possible
  • I want to be involved in more activities, join groups and be part of my community

In your NDIS plan, you can access Clear Breeze Apartments under:

  • Support Coordination (use your NDIS funds to pay for onsite supports at Clear Breeze)
  • Develop Life Skills

 


Hummingbird House

Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only children’s hospice, provides short stay breaks, family support, creative therapies, and care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Underpinned by the notion of creating a ‘warm embrace’ for children and their families, Hummingbird House supports families by ensuring they have access to short stay breaks, family support, creative therapies and end of life care.

Example goals

  • I want my child to have the therapy support he needs to improve his health and wellbeing
  • I want support for my child to do more things in the community with people her age.
  • I want my child to have a short break away from home to enjoy a new environment and experience new things
  • I want my child to have end of life care in a warm, home-like environment

  • Early Childhood Supports
  • Therapeutic Supports
  • Personal Activities – higher intensity
  • Development-Life Skills - Training for carers in matters related to caring for a person with a disability

Hadden Place

Hadden Place is a dementia-specific day respite centre in Brisbane’s western suburbs that provides care and support for people living with a form of dementia, and their carers. Through a suite of activities, Hadden Place helps clients to have new experiences and meet new people while being cared for in a secure environment.

Example goals:

  • I want to take a break from my regular environment and take part in activities in the community

In your NDIS plan, you can access Hadden Place under:

  • Daily Tasks and Shared Living – short term accommodation
  • Group Centre Activities
  • Personal Activities – high support

 


Hyland House

Hyland House is a day respite centre in Brisbane’s Northern suburbs that provides care and support for people living disability to have a break from their daily routine. Through a suite of activities, Hyland House helps clients to have new experiences and meet new people while being cared for in a secure environment.

Example goals

  • I want to take a break from my regular environment and take part in activities in the community

In your NDIS plan, you can access Hyland House under:

  • Group Centre Activities
  • Personal Activities – High support

 


Home Assist Secure

If you live in the Pine Rivers region, you can request assistance through the Home Assist Secure home modification and maintenance service. This service can help with things like changing light globes, servicing taps and toilets, fitting grab rails and hand rails, and repairing and installing locks.

Example goals

  • I want to get some work done around my house to help me live more safely

In your NDIS plan, you can access Home Assist Secure under:

  • Household maintenance
  • Home modifications
