I moved here to St Marks just so that I could have a little extra help with things. It’s nice to live in your own home but the everyday maintenance of it can become a huge job. I’m very thankful that I’ve always enjoyed good health and I’ve really had very little complaints in life, but sometimes you need a helping hand!
For me, it was an easy transition into living at St Marks. All the staff have been so welcoming and friendly. There’s always something going on, from daily activities to just socialising in the big auditorium lounge. I’m also part of a walking group that goes out most days, weather permitting. I like to keep active.
One of my most favourite things to do is sit outside under the huge Poinciana tree in the courtyard and listen to the breeze rustle through the branches. It’s so relaxing and beautiful.
I still have so much freedom and independence here. Every Sunday I go to my community church that I’ve been going to for years and then spend the rest of the day with my family.
You won’t find a better community than St Marks. I don’t regret my decision to move at all. Everyone is so lovely and helpful – you’d have to go a long way to beat it!
