Over recent weeks, the aged care sector has featured prominently in the Australian media following an announcement of a Royal Commission into aged care and a two-part investigation on the ABC’s Four Corners program.
While the content of the program was in no way connected or representative of Wesley Mission Queensland, we were deeply concerned about the issues raised. Please be assured we are committed to providing quality and safe care and support for residents.
As a not-for-profit organisation we are guided by our mission, to walk alongside people in need, offering care and compassion and promoting choice, independence and community wellbeing.
Our nurses and care workers in both residential aged care and the community follow strict policies and procedures and receive ongoing and regular support and training.
Above all, we are passionate about caring for older Australians and providing in-home and community services that allow people to stay in their homes longer and live fulfilling lives.
Over the coming weeks and months, Wesley Mission Queensland will continue to work with aged care advocates, industry bodies and all levels of government to address the changing landscape and needs of the sector.
We very much value transparency and feedback from our community. Should you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us on 1800 448 448 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, please complete the form below:
