Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only children’s hospice, provides short stay breaks, family support, creative therapies and care for children with a life-limiting condition, and their families.
Hummingbird House includes:
- Eight guest-in-care bedrooms
- Five family accommodation suites
- A hydrotherapy pool
- A rooftop terrace
- A ‘care at the end of life’ suite
- An in-house kitchen and chef
Underpinned by the notion of creating a ‘warm embrace’ for children and their families, our multidisciplinary team will provide:
- Scheduled child and family short stay breaks
- Emergency short stay breaks
- Pain and symptom management
- Care at the end of life
- Psychosocial support programs for the whole family
Hummingbird House supports families by ensuring they have access to short stay breaks, family support, creative therapies and end of life care.
Hummingbird House will be a place where kids can be kids, families can reconnect and precious memories can be created. It's a joint initiative of Wesley Mission Queensland and Hummingbird House Foundation.
