Do a Trek to Connect

20 May 2018
Mt Glorious, Brisbane

'Do a Trek to Connect' is a unique opportunity to challenge yourself and raise vital funds for suicide prevention.

You and three industry colleagues or friends alike will trek 42kms, in an organised group movement, across a beautiful slice of South East Queensland. This team building trek is strictly limited to 25 teams.

This is not a race, but a life-changing experience you don’t want to miss — and every step you take will help save lives.

'Do a Trek to Connect' will:

  • connect you with nature
  • connect you as a team
  • connect you with other like-minded teams
  • connect those in our community who urgently need your support
  • connect people at-risk of suicide to the help they need.

Take up the challenge and register today!

Why Do a Trek to Connect?

Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians under the age of 45?

Approximately eight Australians are lost to suicide each day1 , and Lifeline Australia estimates there are over 60,000 suicide attempts each year.

You can be a part of changing these statistics. By participating and fundraising in 'Do a Trek to Connect' you will support vital Wesley Mission Queensland suicide prevention initiatives, including Suicide Prevention TrainingGroup61 and Marcus Mission.

Suicide has devastating impacts on families and communities. We need your help to bring about change to those who need it the most.

Registration is $1,000 per team of four, and includes:

  • free weekly training and education sessions

  • professional support team in the lead up and on the trek, including medical staff, hiking team and vehicle support

  • catering and refreshments

  • a unique opportunity for professional development and team building through fun and

    challenging activities during the trek.

Before event day, your team needs to fundraise a minimum of $1,000 ($250 per participant) to support Wesley Mission Queensland’s suicide prevention initiatives.

'Do a Trek to Connect' is a mentally and physically challenging journey, but one you will never forget. Are you ready to take up the challenge?
