Jahjumbeen Kindergarten and Child Care Centre is rated as Exceeding in the National Quality Standard. We work with our families to create a safe space where children know they're a valued member of our diverse community.
Our Environment
Our light-filled rooms are full of natural play invitations that inspire children’s creativity and imagination. We have two different shaded outdoor spaces that allow children the space to explore and learn about the natural world.
We work with families to create a space where children know that they are valued members of our diverse community. We also encourage families to get involved in their child’s learning when they can – whether this is reading a story or sharing their culture with cooking or songs. We know that connection and belonging are vital in the early years and we do all we can to encourage this.
Our Educators
Our dedicated team of culturally diverse Educators who know each child in our centre. We strive to take part in continuous growth and development opportunities as professionals. We provide a safe, rich, meaningful and motivating program for each child and ensure their interests are explored through creative learning opportunities.
Our Learning Program
We view children as competent and capable learners who can confidently take part and provide input in planning and implementing their own learning experiences. We facilitate and deliver a research, enquiry and play-based program where children of different ages, levels of skills and knowledge can support and build their own and their peers’ learning. We use the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline to inform our practice. We actively invite and promote parent participation and involvement in our program through our learning application (Kindy Portal) and on-going face to face communication.
Approved kindergarten provider
We’re an approved kindergarten provider, with our program run by an experienced team of highly knowledgeable and dedicated early childhood teachers. Our program delivers what children need to build upon their skills. We cover a range of learning and development areas such as social and emotional competence, literacy and numeracy and creative thinking which altogether aim to provide a strong foundation for the rest of their educational journey.
