In Home Child Care Educator Vacancies


In Home child care is for families who are unable to access standard child care due to work, location or care requirements.

This type of care provides a qualified and experienced child care educator to look after children in their own home. The educator works with the family providing quality child care experiences within the family environment. In Home Child Care Educators are contractors and therefor set their hourly rate of pay. Educators are expected to provide planned experiences appropriate to the children’s ages and abilities, whilst working within the family routine.

Current Opportunities

We currently taking applications from In Home Child Care Educators for the following families:

Family 1.
Live at: 
Children: 3 children – 5year old, 3year old & 10 month old
Care Required: Monday 8:30am - 4pm (some flexibility)

Family 2.
Live at: 
Ferny Grove
Children: Care required for a school age child who has ataxia. Child uses a wheelchair or walker and requires assistance with all daily routines.
Care required: 2 - 3 hours after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Fridays.

Family 3.
Live at: 
Children: 2 children in family – 5 year old at school, and an 18 month old who is unable to attend child care for health reasons. Both parents work.
Care required: approx. 30 hours per week for younger child and around 5 hours per week for older child.

Family 4.
Live at: 
Children: 2 children – 8 year old and a 2½ year old
Care required: 2.30pm – 8.30pm during school terms, preferred days are Monday and Thursday but may be flexible. More hours needed during school holidays.
Other details: Experience with complex/high needs children would be well-regarded. Students studying Education, Nursing, Disability/Special Needs welcome to apply. Must drive and have own transport as school pick-up is needed during school terms.

Family 5. This position is for approx. 13 weeks and is high priority if you are available.
Live at: 
Waterford West
8 week old boy
Care required: 
2 full days and possibility of some half days – fairly flexible.
Other details: Baby has some health needs and requires monitoring. Providing some respite and support to parent.

Family 6.
Live at:
1 year old triplets
Care required: 
Evenings 3pm-9pm plus some weekends, flexible, parents would consider anyone that is available for even some of the care.
Other details: 
Permanent educator is on holidays so care only required until November.

Family 7.
Live at: 
Children: 3 children - 2 year old + 8 month old twins
Care required: 4 hours on Tuesdays & 6 hours on Wednesdays

Family 8.
Live at: 
Children: twin 5 year olds
Care required: rotating 13 week roster but can give shifts up to 3 months in advance. Happy to have multiple educators to fill the shifts.

How to apply

 To apply for one of these positions you must possess:

  • Current First aid qualifications including asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Current CPR
  • Hold or ability to obtain a paid (Working With Children Check) blue card
  • Relevant Qualifications can include Certificate 111 in Child Care; Certificate 111 in disability; Diploma of Children’s Services
  • Students of Nursing, Social Work, Child and Family Studies, Diploma of Teaching are welcome to apply
  • Public liability insurance
